What are the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency?

Common symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include fatigue, weakness, pale skin, shortness of breath, tingling or numbness in the hands and feet, poor memory, and mood changes.

Am I Suitable for Vitamin B12 injections?

It is important that you see your doctor/GP if you suspect or display symptoms of B12 deficiency. It is important also to not exceed the recommended doses of B12. A blood test to check your blood B12 level can be taken by your doctor/GP, If you have a known vitamin B12 deficiency, then investigation of the cause and replacement should be conducted by your doctor/GP only.

How often can I get vitamin B12 injections?

The prophylactic dose for prevention of B12 deficiency is 1mg every 2-3 months.

A definitive diagnosis of vitamin B12 deficiency is typically made through blood tests, which measure the levels of vitamin B12 in your blood. If you suspect a deficiency, consult your GP for proper evaluation.​

How is Vitamin B12 given?

Replacement of vitamin B12 is in the form of Hydroxocobalamin is given by intramuscular injection into the Deltoid muscle in the side of the upper arm. 

 

Are vitamin B12 injections painful?

Some individuals may experience slight discomfort or pain at the injection site, but it is generally well-tolerated.

 

How long does the treatment take?

Each booking allows for a total of 15 minutes.

Aftercare advice

Avoid touching or rubbing the injection site. Avoid swimming, exercise & alcohol for 24 hours after injection.
