Soft Tissue Fillers Aftercare Advice
What to Expect and How to Protect Your Results
* Swelling: It is normal to experience some degree of swelling in the treated areas. This swelling is usually mild to moderate and should subside within a few days to a week. To reduce swelling, you can apply a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a thin cloth to the treated areas for short intervals.
* Redness: Mild redness or pinkness at the injection sites is common and typically resolves within a few hours to a couple of days.
* Bruising: Bruising may occur at the injection sites, varying in intensity from minimal to moderate. Bruises usually fade over the course of 7 to 14 days. To minimise bruising, avoid alcohol consumption, Ibuprofen and Aspirin for 24 hours. Applying arnica cream or using cold compresses may also help.
* Tenderness: Some tenderness or sensitivity in the treated areas is normal and typically subsides within a few days. Avoid massaging or pressing on the treated areas to prevent displacement of the filler.
* Numbness or Tingling: Temporary numbness or tingling may occur immediately after the procedure due to the anaesthetic present in the filler. This sensation should resolve quickly.

How to Protect Your Results and Reduce Side Effects:
* Sun Protection: Minimise sun exposure and protect the treated areas from UV rays by wearing a wide-brimmed hat and using sunscreen with a high SPF. UV exposure can lead to premature aging and affect the longevity of your results.
* Avoid Extreme Temperatures: For 48 hours after the procedure, avoid exposure to excessive heat, such as saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, or prolonged sunbathing. Heat can increase swelling and potentially affect the filler's longevity.
* Gentle Skincare: Follow a gentle skincare routine, using mild cleansers and moisturisers. Avoid harsh exfoliation or scrubbing for at least one week after the treatment.
* Avoid Pressure or Trauma: Refrain from applying excessive pressure or trauma to the treated areas. Avoid facial massages, excessive facial expressions, or sleeping on your face to prevent displacement or distortion of the filler.
* Avoid flying for 24-48 hours after treatment to reduce the chance of swelling.
* Follow-up Appointments: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments as advised by Isabel. These appointments allow her to assess your progress and address any concerns.
* Report Any Concerns: If you experience severe or persistent swelling, pain, asymmetry, or any other concerning symptoms, contact Isabel promptly. She can evaluate your condition and provide appropriate guidance.
